Among the contenders for the Uganda Musicians Association presidency, King Saha has declared he will work closely with everyone once elected, including Moses Ssaali alias Bebe Cool who publicly denounced his candidacy.
King Saha, one of the candidates for the Uganda Musicians Association presidency, has said he will work closely with everyone, including Moses Ssaali alias Bebe Cool, who has publicly denounced King Saha’s candidacy.
While in an interview with journalists last week, Bebe Cool criticised the two nominees, King Saha and Cindy Sanyu who are both vying for the UMA position saying they are both not able candidates.
Bebe Cool, in particular, said Cindy Sanyu who has served in the position for the last two years has been a liability. For King Saha, he said he is a drug addict who if elected will set a bad image in the music industry.
Bebe Cool also rushed to his social media platform to nominate Maurice Kirya for the position saying he is one individual who possesses good leadership skills.
“I always mind several things when choosing a leader and a few of them are my brother Maurice Kirya’s choice for UMA president. He is educated, displined, good conduct, experience, approachable, open minded, welcoming, always listens, taba muntalotalo, exposure, age, and the ability to unite both those who like and don’t like you,” Bebe Cool said.
“Dear brother, i with due respect request you to accept my proposal for you to be the new UMA president because I am sure so many artists in Uganda will agree with me on this,” he added fronting Kirya.
However, while responding to the comments, King Saha said negative talk is always expected from people but said once voted, he would work for all musicians including those who agree with him or not.
“I am ready to work with everyone even those who have publicly denounced my candidature. Bebe can be one of the advisors,” he said. He added that as a leader, he must accommodate all people of divergent views,” Saha said.
Meanwhile, his nomination has since brought excitement among many Ugandans saying that he is one individual musician should vote for because of his strong love for music.
Others including the Mityana legislator, Hon Francis Zaake have also since reacted in support of Saha’s nomination saying that he is one person who always stands up to defend the oppressed.
“A good musician is not just the kind that only minds about himself but rather the kind that voices the concerns of his people. King Saha stands with the oppressed that’s why we too stand with him. With him in control as UMA president, our industry shall be in the right hands. It’s time to revolutionize UMA!,” Zaake wrote on his Facebook page.
